Description
This feature aims to extend Teraflow SDN's SouthBound Interface (SBI) to seamlessly manage and integrate quantum network devices, such as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems. By incorporating quantum devices, Teraflow SDN will be at the forefront of leveraging quantum technologies for enhanced network security and efficiency. This extension will facilitate dynamic configuration, monitoring, and management of quantum devices, ensuring they operate harmoniously within the existing network infrastructure.
The integration should focuses on:
- Device Discovery: Identifying and listing quantum devices within the network.
- Device Configuration: Configuring devices with specific operational parameters.
- Device Status Query: Monitoring operational status and performance metrics.
- Device Control Commands: Managing device operations, such as starting or stopping services.
- Update Firmware/Software: Ensuring devices are up-to-date with the latest software or firmware.
- Security Configuration: Securing devices with up-to-date cryptographic keys and protocols.
Demo or definition of done
- Successful integration of a quantum device management module within the Teraflow SDN's SBI.
- Ability to dynamically configure, monitor, and manage quantum devices from the Teraflow SDN controller.
- Documentation on module usage, setup, and integration with existing network components, including:
- API Specifications: Request and response formats for device management.
- Configuration Guides: Instructions for setting up and managing quantum devices.
- Troubleshooting: Solutions for common device management issues.
- Security Practices: Guidelines for secure device communication and configuration.
