Description

This feature aims to develop a comprehensive topology model within the Teraflow SDN, specifically designed to accommodate quantum links and nodes. The goal is to enable efficient routing and resource allocation for quantum key distribution (QKD), ensuring secure quantum communication across the network. By integrating a quantum-aware topology model, Teraflow SDN will be at the forefront of embracing quantum technologies, providing a solid foundation for future-proof network security enhancements.

The quantum topology model should include:

  • Quantum Nodes Identification and Management
  • Quantum Links Characterization
  • Routing Algorithms for Quantum Communications
  • Resource Allocation for QKD
  • Integration with Classical Networking Elements
  • Security and Integrity Mechanisms

Demo or definition of done

  • Implementation and demonstration of a QKD-aware topology within the Teraflow SDN environment, capable of supporting quantum links and nodes.
  • Successful routing and resource allocation for QKD, verified through testing scenarios.
  • Comprehensive documentation detailing the topology model, integration process, and guidelines for future expansions.
