DE comment on 5.1.3.13 Volume reset not applicable for a TV (tab 5, issue 16, row 17)
Submitted for Digital Europe as part of #55 (closed).
5.1.3.13 Volume reset
Where auditory output is provided as non-visual access to closed functionality, a function that resets the volume to be at a level of 65 dBA or less after every use, shall be provided, unless the ICT is dedicated to a single user. NOTE: A feature to disable the volume reset function may be provided in order to enable the single-user exception to be met.
Input to the revision of EN 301 549 from Digital Europe (including Samsung, LG, Amazon, Sony, Panasonic)
Add NOTE 2
NOTE 2: This requirement is intended for terminals and kiosks used in public spaces, and is not applicable to personal devices such as TVs. Where the ICT is a domestic TV in a domestic setting, it is recognised that a TV is dedicated to a single user (which in the context of a TV can include multiple members of a household), where a volume reset function is not required, yet the ability to store the last used volume level is preferable.
