Mismatches between the wording of clause 3 requirements and their tests in Annex C
When generating examples of Annex C tables, using ChatGPT (Issue #105), some discrepancies with the original requirement text were found. These will need to be checked throughout Annex C.
The first example that I found was with clause 5.1.5 "Visual output of auditory information". In this clause the current pre-condition reads:
Where auditory information is needed to enable the use of closed functions of ICT
The C.5.1.5 test reads:
Pre-recorded auditory information is needed to enable the use of closed functions of ICT
The addition of "Pre-recorded" in C.5.1.5 was to align it with the wording of WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded). Clause 5.1.5 was presented as the closed-functionality variant of SC 1.1.1.
This specific addition seems to be appropriate, as nowhere in clause 5.1 is live audio being talked about. This implies that "pre-recorded" should be added before the word "auditory" in the 5.1.5 pre-condition text. It is likely that this change, and similar changes, will need to be made to many of the clause 5.1 requirements to better align them with their more tightly specified equivalent requirements in WCAG.
