Implement Service Handler for FLEX-SCALE Optical Connections
# Proposers - Andrea Sgambelluri (CNIT) - Nicola Sambo (CNIT) - Mohammad Ismaeel (CNIT) # Description The Service component has to be extended in order to trigger the Optical component for optical service provisioning. In particular, the ServiceHandler of the Service component, according to the request from the E2E Orchestrator, has to extract the identifiers for the source and the destination nodes and the specifications for the optical service, such as the requested information rate. # Demo or definition of done This feature allows to deploy a new optical connection, exploiting the optical component and the extension in the SBI to control enhanced OpenConfig devices, including both Transceivers and Multi-Granular Optical Nodes. The features has been adopted for the OFC2024 paper "TeraFlowSDN controlling SDM and wideband optical networks" that will be presented in March 2024 [Ref-1]. # Acknowledgements This work is funded by the European Commission through the HORIZON-JU-SNS-2022 FLEX-SCALE project with Grant Agreement number 101096909. # References 1.
