(OPT) Monitoring for QKD Module

Description

This proposal aims to develop and integrate monitoring and security functionalities specifically tailored for the Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) module within the Teraflow SDN framework. The objective is to establish robust mechanisms for real-time monitoring of QKD operations, leveraging standardized interfaces for data recovery, specifically ETSI GS QKD 018/015, to ensure secure and efficient monitoring and management of quantum key exchanges. The recovered values will be reported in Grafana, providing network operators with a powerful tool for visualizing and analyzing the performance and security of the QKD module in real time. Some values to be recovered would be:

  • Key Generation Rate
  • Error Rates
  • Key Consumption Rate
  • Security Incident Alerts

Demo or definition of done

  • Implementation of real-time monitoring systems for QKD operations.
  • Deployment of enhanced security protocols for quantum key exchanges.
  • Successful demonstration of intrusion detection and response mechanisms in a QKD scenario.
  • Comprehensive documentation of the security and monitoring features, including guidelines for network operators.
