Description
Optical extensions of the SBI component to interface with FLEX-SCALE optical devices. This work will (re-)configure optical devices and to collect monitoring information for the configuration, monitoring and streaming telemetry, enabling the full programmability of the proposed optical layer. The SBI component is based on an enhanced OpenConfig YANG data model capable of controlling and managing – through the NETCONF protocol, via a NETCONF plugin at SBI – the optical devices. Thus, the content of the delivered (e.g., ) and received (e.g., ) NETCONF messages by the SDN controller is based on the enhanced OpenConfig data model.
Demo or definition of done
This feature allows to control enhanced OpenConfig devices, including both Transceivers and Multi-Granular Optical Nodes. The features has been adopted for the OFC2024 paper "TeraFlowSDN controlling SDM and wideband optical networks" that will be presented in March 2024 [Ref-1].
