Add scope detail for Wireless MCU & Wireless Modules

Hello,

When reading the definition of the scope of this standard, you can interpret that Wireless MCU and Wireless hardware module are in the scope of this standard.

By Wireless MCU, I mean a micro-controler with an integrated network stack which permits to support various protocols like Wifi, Bluetooth, Thread, LoRA WAN...

The isssue for this is to define the core fonctionality, is it a microcontroler or network interface ? From security point of view, the main risks will probably come from the network, so could make sense to use network standard ; but in another hand, this is a microcontroler so the standard series from TC 47 could make sense with the concept physical and logical attack.

There are as well different type of wireless microcontroler, some are open to be programmed, meaning application can run in the controler, some are not openned and they are connected to an application processor through a physical interface using AT command (Cellular modem), HCI command (Bluetooth), or propriatary protocols. In such case the micro controler supplier is providing a full solution with network stack and semiconductor.

Is it possible to add this example in the use case list ? for these two cases : Wireless controler with open processor and close processor ?

Best Regards,

Nicolas
