C.6.2.1.1 RTT communication - Pre-condition 3 is too strict

It seems that pre-condition 3 is too strict. What, if one does not have an "RTT reference terminal"? Is this requirement than "not applicable"?

To my understanding, 6.2.1.1 only requires a bi-directional text messaging mechanism that follows the definition of RTT, i.e. provides for an instant transmission of the chunks of a text message. Interoperability with specific protocols is dealt with in 6.2.3.

Proposal:

  • Remove pre-condition 3.
  • Procedure: "1. Check that the ICT allows two-way RTT communication that conforms to the definition of RTT (see chp. 3)".
